Hi Kids!
Remember when I wrote that I was praying about going back to Thailand for a longer stay? Well, I do feel that God is leading me back and i actually have already bought my ticket! I leave on June 9th and I will be gone until September 15th! I am very excited, although it will be hard to leave my family. I can't wait to see how the Lord uses my time in Thailand to bring glory to His name. |

The world today teaches young people that it is okay and expected to be rebellious and not listen to or obey our parents and elders. However, I believe that when we allow the Lord to use others to speak into our lives and listen to what they say, it shows we have open hearts to Christ shaping us into the people he wants us to be. Too many people today, young and old, listen to worldly advice instead of godly advice. Because of this, many children grow up looking to celebrities such as Hannah Montana, Brittany Spears and others to show them how live and look, rather than looking in the Word of God to find out these things.
I believe it is important for young women to look up their mothers, grandmothers and godly Biblical women such as Queen Esther, Deborah, Ruth, and the Proverbs 31 woman as examples of what God expects to see in a godly woman. Likewise for young men to look to their fathers, grandfathers and godly Biblical men such as Elijah and Paul, and other such men to show them what God expects to see in a godly man.
If we want to draw closer to Jesus and learn more about what it means to live for Him, then we need to surround ourselves with people who love the Lord and spend much of our time with them or reading about them. The Bible tells us that we become like those we spend our time with the most. Let's spend our time being with, listening to, or reading about people we want to be like!
God bless you! |

Psalm 98
1 Sing a new song to the Lord. He has done wonderful things. By the power of his right hand and his holy arm he has saved his people. 2 The Lord has made known his power to save. He has shown the nations that he does what is right. 3 He has shown his faithful love to the people of Israel. People from one end of the earth to the other have seen that our God has saved us.
4 Shout to the Lord with joy, everyone on earth. Burst into joyful songs and make music. 5 Make music to the Lord with the harp. Sing and make music with the harp. 6 Blow the trumpets. Give a blast on the ram's horn. Shout to the Lord with joy. He is the King.
7 Let the ocean and everything in it roar. Let the world and all who live in it shout. 8 Let the rivers clap their hands. Let the mountains sing together with joy. 9 Let them sing to the Lord, because he is coming to judge the earth. He will judge the nations of the world in keeping with what is right and fair.

Yesterday afternoon, driving home from church service, our family past by a spot on the side of the road that had flowers beginning to grow and bloom already. It was really nice for me to see the signs of life that Spring brings, appearing after a long winter of what seemed to be dark and sleep.
Ever since I was a young child, Spring has been my favorite season. I love the feeling of being able to go outside again and feel the warm sun on my face, hear birds sing, and watch the trees and flowers bloom. For some reason, the Lord has used these things to help remind me of not only His greatness, but, also His gentleness.
It amazes me how God can make time to touch the littlest plant and make it grow, or help a tiny baby bird hatch out of an egg and begin it's life outside. He cares a lot about the things He has created. And yet, His love for you and me is so much more. The Bible says in Matthew 6:26, "Look at the birds of the air. They don't plant or gather crops. They don't put away crops in storerooms. But your Father who is in Heaven feeds them. Aren't you worth much more than they are?" . The answer is, yes you are. The God who knows when the littlest of sparrows has fallen, has also counted how many hairs you have in your head. He notices what makes you feel blessed or hurt. He also knew before you were even born that you would sin against Him, but, He sent His Only Son to die on a cross to take away your punishment so you could be free from your sin if you give you live your life for Him. Yes, you are very valuable to God.
I encourage you to spend some time to go outside and enjoy the beautiful weather and remember just how wonderful and awesome our God really is. May you draw even closer to Him today! |

Not to scare you in any way, but, what if persecution comes to the Untied States? Are we so in love with Christ that we would never deny Him if persecuted for being His follower? I pray so. I pray that our trust in Him would overcome our fear of what may happen to us. We must stay faithful to our Savior.
Truthfully, I'm scared to be persectued... scared that I will deny Jesus and not be able to spend eternity with Him, because being with Him is a much greater prize then just living a little bit longer on this earth.
It is now, while we have the chance, that we need to build our spritual strength so we will be strong later if persecution does come to this nation. As Christians we need to encourage one another and build each other up. Again, I don't wish to scare you, but, the Bible does say that Jesus will one day return and the time before His return will be difficult to live in. I think it's good to ask ourselves of where we are at in our walk with God.
Kid's Corner will be coming your way soon! If you don't already get our newsletter then please feel free to sign-up today! Next month we will be reading about Daniel in the Lion's Den. We will read about his faithfulness to the Lord during a very rough time in his life. Keep a look out! :)
