Hi Kids!!
Today I will be heading to my fourth Thai language lesson with my Thai teacher. I am really enjoying them so far. It's hard, but, I know they will be worth it in the end .
Yesterday I went with two friends to visit some children on the other side of the train tracks where the poorer people live. Since I can't speak or understand the language yet, I sat and listened while my friend, Christina, read about Abraham in the Bible. These children are not Christians, but, they like to hear the Bible stories and sing the songs my friends teach them. We pray that one day all the stories they hear will make more sense to them and turn their hearts away from Buddha and towards Christ instead. Would you please keep them in your prayers and believe God for them and their families to be saved?
Remember, you are not too young to do great things for God! Draw close to Jesus!! |

Hello from Thailand!
I have been here for three days now and I am getting used to the new things around me pretty quickly. Except the heat! It is very hot today.
I'm eating some neat foods too! Mostly fried rice, but, yesterday I ate fried squid! I'm not really sure if I liked it or not.
This morning at church I got to see some of the Bible students that i had met before. It was so good to see them!
This week and next week is more about getting to know people and having some time to relax. Next week is vacation time for the family I am staying with so we will be going to an island for a few days. When we come home though, I will be much busier helping with kids, studying my Bible, and other things. I can't wait!
Thank you so much for your prayers! I will try to post some picture soon. God bless!

Hey Kids!
Guess what?! Only 5 more days till I leave for Thailand! Wow! Just think, in a few short days I will be writing to you from a different country . I can't wait to share with you all of my experiences and let's not forget...Pictures! It is going to be so neat to see what God's plans are for me while I am there. I feel very humbled that He trusts me to help represent Him and His Word (the Bible) to the Thai people.
Thank you very much to those of you who have been praying for me! And just so you know, because this week is going to be very busy for me, I probably will not write again until I get to Thailand. God bless you!!!
Love,
Megan |

My dad and brother are on their way home right now from a trip to Sudan. They were there helping a village who had nothing. I mean nothing. I have seen several pictures and also video clips of this village. They didn't have blankets or mosquito nets. They didn't have any food so they were taking leaves off of trees and boiling them in water just so they could have something to make them feel full. And their clothes were rotting off their bodies. Wow, what a reminder to be thankful for what I have. I have a beautiful house to live in, as much food as I want, and clothes that are in good shape. God has always provided for my family's needs. That doesn't mean we have never had tougher times, but, it does mean that we have never been without the things that we actually NEED.
So why can it be so easy sometimes to want things that I don't really need instead of just being thankful for what I already have? I believe it's called...selfishness. I (we) have been born with a sinful nature that tempts me to be more like the world instead of more like Jesus. But, thank God for reminders like the one of the village in Sudan to help keep me keep my eyes on Him!
If you would like to know more about the village that GRN is helping in Sudan, just ask your parents if you may go on the main blog to read posts that my dad wrote about it. The village is actually called Internally Displaced People's Camp or the IDP Camp. |

Hi Kids!
I have a new recipe for you! I just made it for the first time yesterday and It tastes really good . Please have an adult with you while you are making this recipe! Have fun!
Butterscotch Marshmallow Blondies
Ingredients:
1 cup butterscotch chips
1/2 cup butter, softened
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup brown sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 eggs
2 cups mini marshmallows
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
Directions:
1. Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease or line a 9x13 baking dish.
2. In a sauce pan over low to medium heat melt the butter. After butter is almost completely melted, add butterscotch chips, stirring constantly until smooth. As soon as the butter and chips are melted remove from heat and pour into a mixing bowl. Be sure not to over heat the butter and butterscotch chips or they will separate and appear curdled. Cool the mixture to room temperature.
3. Using an electric mixer, beat the vanilla and eggs into the butterscotch mixture. Then, gradually add the combined flour, brown sugar, baking powder, and salt. When blended ( the batter will be thick) mix in the chocolate chips and marshmallows.
4. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan. Bake for about 25 minutes or until the top is light brown. The center will feel a little soft, but will firm while cooling. Let cool 2-3 hours before cutting.
5. Eat and enjoy!
God bless!
