Growing up in Thailand can be quite the adventure! Just ask the Pruett kids, Shiloh, Savannah, Summer and Smith! Their family are missionaries here in southern Thailand. They are very sweet and their faces shine with the love of Jesus!
Being home-schooled in their house by the river, surrounded by beautiful plants and wildlife (including their 6 cats, 3 goats, 2 ducks and several chickens!) definitely has it's advantages. There is always something nearby that their mom and dad can use to teach them more about God's creation and how to take responsibility with the things around them.
But the best thing about living in this tropical country is being a light to the Thai people. In fact, their family also runs a cafe called "The Lighthouse". At "The Lighthouse" the Thais can come into a place that offers not only the opportunity to learn English, but the hope and truth that only Christ can give. Of course, for the Pruett kids, being able to have a sweet snack everyday is also a plus : )
Shiloh, Savannah and Summer enjoy helping their mom bake desserts in the cafe's kitchen, while Smith loves to play with the younger children that come in.
It's not always easy to grow up in a different culture, learning a new language and being stared at all the time...but thesegreat kids see it as an opportunity to be used by God even in their young ages. I wish you could meet them!
